Hi there!
I sort of know why the game crashes on windows! it's one timer that does not work properly... i'm not that good in programming but i could figure that out...
if you remove these lines from the code, version 0.73 works perfectly on my windows computer!!! Very Happy

by the way... i'd like to help you with openworldsoccer in any way i can... i'm a german student with plenty of time Very Happy and i could help you with translations into german or other things you want me to do (searching for bugs etc.)

I had some problems with choosing the right libraries, but I've just solved the problem Smile

I had to install:

gcc-cpp
libSDL_image-devel
libboost-devel

And now the game is working!

Hey Andy,

What lines did you remove and where for the app to run OK? It would be great to have a stable YS0.73 Surprised

BTW, sorry for the Europapokal... Better luck next time Wink

file: menu.bmx
in EVERY function starting with "menu_" you must turn 2 lines containing "createtimer" and "waittimer" into comments!
AND: "SetGraphicsDriver GLMax2DDriver()" in main.bmx mustn't be comment

v0.73 works very well!!! the substitution graphics are very well done!

p.s.: congrats for the cup! spain played a lot better than germany

p.p.s.: yoda soccer was so great!!!! if there were tackles and headers and the goalie a little better then i would play it all day long!!!! i hope i can help with ows (e.g. with translations) to be even better as legendary swos!

i think the timer should reduce the speed... but the game crashes after several seconds... i don't know if it is necessary...
what do you say, massimo?
and what about the tackling graphics?

The only reason for timer in the menu is the animated border of active button. Then you can remove it safely.

It's simply a wrong alignment of the row, but don't worry it's not definitive Wink

Hi everybody,
I come from Lithuania, I'm using Linux, so I was searching for a football game on it. Not much are out there, so it's quite easy to find almost all of 'em Smile This project looks promising, and it would probably run on my PC, which really old (Pentium II like Celeron with 500MHz and 192MB RAM). But I've got a problem - I'm using PCFluxboxOS Linux (a PCLinuxOS based distro with fluxbox window environment), I downloaded the file, ungzipped them (or whatever it should be called), then opened a terminal and typed "./ows", got error: ./ows: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_program_options-gcc-mt-1_33_1.so.1.33.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file name or directory". I installed all the libraries that are required (according to izotepion's post), but still nothing. What's wrong then? I really want to try the game out and maybe help the development in some ways.

Thanks,
kubuxaz

Try installing also the package libboost-program-options1.33.1.

You don't need libboost-program-options-dev unless you want to compile the game.

The problem is, there's no such package in my systems repositories, and as I suspect, there aren't such package for PCLinuxOS (on which my system is based) at all Confused Well, I'll try to find a soliution for this problem. Thanks for your help.
